Useful Forms

A small collection where utility begins with a clear geometric idea.

The Idea

To find character through proportion, weight and touch rather than ornament.

An ongoing study of table objects and editions produced at a human, hand-held scale.

Paper, stone and metal studies were made in series. Each prototype removed what the object did not need.

Simple solids are cut, folded and weighted to reveal use. A restrained palette lets surface, edge and shadow remain visible.
